Many people have asked me why I was in Guatemala. Here’s the answer. We adopted a baby boy! Soon we will be able to have a Kawasaki line when we play hockey (that’s five players for those not familiar with the sport).
Life doesn’t get much better than this…
You may see noticeably fewer postings for a while as I exercise my right to a paternity leave. :-)
Guy, Beth, and rest of the Kawasaki crew: Congratulations!! Now where do we buy size 1 baby skates??
Congratulations! Very cute photo.
Congratulations! You already know this, but adoption is wonderful (as are children in general–most of the time).
Guy and Family,
As a wise Hawaiian once said, Mozel Tov!
WOW – BIG news on the personal front Guy – congrats to you and your family.
Guy–
I’m a huge fan of yours. I wish you and your family the very best with your new addition.

Congratulations on the baby boy!
Now you have one more reason for making this world a better place :-)
Claudio
Congrats on your new addition – he looks like a keeper!
Love your blog, by the way!
What a wonderful new addition to the family and the hockey world! Congratulations!
Bravo.
Go Team Kawasaki, Go
Guy,
That’s awesome. Thank you for reminding us that life is not all work. Some of the best deals are done outside of the boardroom.
Congratulations!
Great to have you in Guatemala! I hope you like it. Congrats for the adoption!
Saludos desde Guatemala!
Ironically, though Team Kawasaki’s newest member is very young, rumor has it that Pittsburgh and St. Louis have made overtures to them for a multi-player deal. I hope that they agree to talk as otherwise Gordon Bombay and the Mighty Ducks will be strapping on the skates again!
Congrats Guy, as you are proving, the greatest wealth that we all have is family.
Guy – congrats! This is GREAT news. As an adoptive father, I can agree life doesn’t get much better.
Congrats again.
Hearty congratulations to the Kawasaki team! Watch out SJ Sharks…;-)
Congrats & Best Wishes to the whole Kawasaki Team!
Congratulations on the newest addition to your family. What’s his name?
– Doug
Congrat’s!!!
That is great, congrats.
hey guy,
We met at a recent summit in San Franciso for Ogilvy. Congratulations! My husband and I are going through the Adoption process now and can’t wait to go to Armenia to meet our little girl.
Hey Guy! Wow…Many Congrats. Cute photo. All the best to you and the family.
Congrats to you and your family. It takes a very big and special heart to adopt, and I commend you for that! I wish your family, and your new addition many years of health and happiness together.
CONGRATULATIONS!
What happy news! I spent a few months working in orphanages in Ecuador. It brings me so much joy to see that picture of you with your boy, knowing that he’s going to a happy home! Good for you. All the best to your family.
Congratulations on your new baby boy Guy!
We’re expecting our first: twin girls in June :D
Congrats Guy!
Congrats on the addition to the family and kudos to you, your wife, and your kids for your generosity to another life.
My wife and I have both been to Guatemala on mission trips. The people there are extremely friendly, but the poverty in the area of Guatemala City we visited was eye-opening.
Hope you picked up some jade jewelry for your wife in Antigua. Seems appropriate since it is a popular precious stone in Asia, but is also found in good supply (and high quality) in Guatemala.
Hi Guy
Congratulations. Our team love your blog.
Just don’t make the kid raise venture capital for his first bike!
Congratulations!
Curious if you have any comments on the lynching in Sumpango, not far from Antigua…
Muchas Felicidades Mr. Kawasaki!
Congratulations, to you and your family, Guy! Will the baby be starting a blog soon? Always nice to have the family’s perspective ;-)
Go figure, I am such a fan and live in Guatemala and I guess i missed this chance for not reading blogs on time :)
Congratulations and I wish you have many many hockey games played together!
That way we all win! ;)
Seiten no heki-reki!
May his first words be “Kick Butt!” :-)
Heartfelt congratulations to you and your family, Guy. My younger brother was adopted from Vietnam when he was three months old. He came home to three sisters and a brother – and I remember that day as if it were yesterday. Continued happiness…
Congratulations, and best wishes for your boy, his parents and his siblings.

Congratulations! All the best for a lifetime of good health and laughter with your new son.
Congratulations, man!
Cute kid. When will you start teaching him “return key” “option key” “right click” etc…? :-)
Congratulations! My wife and I are in the process of adopting of a baby girl from China, hopefully we will be able to go over there in November.
Everyone else has already said, ‘congratulations’, so I’ll simply say that a line has three players.
Ken,
I’m from Hawaii–what did you expect?I’ll change to shift. Would that be right?
Guy
LOL
Sounds good — or they’re your power play.
Of course, I’m a Canuck so I’m compelled to react to hockey references.
In truth, most teams don’t think of all five players at once as you are only allowed to dress 19 players (including two goalies).
That means four lines with five defencemen or three lines with three pairs and two spares (who could be parts of a fourth line with the star centre double-shifting).
So, now I’ll say congratulations and I predict much happiness for the young lad and many years of bringing the good word.
